In January this year, President Xi Jinping and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev jointly announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a new era of all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation, aiming to advance the construction of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from a higher starting point.To earnestly implement the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s major strategic requirements for Guangxi, and actively serve Guangxi’s acceleration of building a domestic and international dual-cycle market operation facilitation, in the morning of April 18th, CCPIT Guangxi Committee and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou jointly hosted the “Guangxi Embraces Five Continents (Central Asia)” China (Guangxi)-Uzbekistan (Khorezm) Economic Trade and Tourism CooperationPromotion Conference in Nanning.

　　The conference marks another meeting and exchange since China (Guangxi)-Uzbekistan (Khorezm) Economic Trade and Tourism Cooperation Conference held almost half a year ago. It is also a confirmation of the continuous friendly cooperation and development between the two sides for a long time. The conference aims to build a bridge for docking and communication between Guangxi and Khorezm Region, further expand the cooperation between Guangxi and Uzbekistan’s Khorezm Region in fields such as economic and trade investment, agriculture, construction, textiles, and tourism, and work together for win-win development.

　　Vice Governor Miao Qingwang of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Governor Raximov Jo‘rabek Raximovich of Khorezm Region, and Ambassador Arziev Farkhod of Uzbekistan in China delivered speeches respectively.

　　Vice Governor Miao Qingwang expressed that Guangxi and Khorezm Region have different resource endowments and strong industrial complementarities, with enormous cooperation potential. Guangxi will take the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor as traction, rely on the construction of border port industrial parks, China-ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Zone, and China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone to accelerate the construction of a domestic and international dual-cycle market operation facilitation, bringing new opportunities for the deepening cooperation between Guangxi and Khorezm Region. Guangxi is willing to take this conference as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan’s Khorezm Region and jointly promote the high-quality construction of the “Belt and Road”, jointly build and share the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and jointly deepen cooperation in economic, trade, and tourism fields.

　　Governor Raximov Jo‘rabek Raximovich stated that as a comprehensive strategic partner of China, Uzbekistan is one of the earliest supporters of the “Belt and Road”. In recent years, exchanges between Uzbekistan and China have become increasingly close, and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields has significantly strengthened, with vigorous development in trade, industry, investment, tourism, transportation, telecommunications, agriculture, and the digital economy. He pointed out that Khorezm Region is rich in tourism and agricultural resources and hopes to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation and cultural tourism exchanges with Guangxi, taking the friendly cooperation between the two sides to a new level.

　　Ambassador Arziev Farkhod stated that the leaders of China and Uzbekistan have opened up new prospects for the development of bilateral relations and pointed out the direction for local cooperation between the two countries. Today’s conference is a model of local cooperation between the two countries and has played an important role in promoting cooperation between the two sides. This conference will promote practical cooperation between Khorezm Region and Guangxi in the fields of economy, trade, and tourism, and help develop bilateral relations at the local level.

　　Deputy Governor Davletov Anvarbek Kenjaevich of Khorezm Region, First Inspector Lai Fuqiang of Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi, Mayor Davletov Temur Ismoilovich of Khiva city, and relevant official from Department of Commerce of Guangxi of respectively gave presentations on investment and business opportunities in Khorezm Region, cultural and tourism industry and resources of Khiva city and Guangxi, and the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Government officials and entrepreneaurs from China and Uzbekistan totaling about 120 participants, interacted and conducted trade docking in fields such as machinery manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, building materials, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

　　At the conference, on behalf of the CCPIT Guangxi Committee and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Khorezm Region, Uzbekistan, Ms. Yang Yanyan, Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi Committee, and Igambergenov Kudratbek Kadambayevich, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Khorezm Region, Uzbekistan, signed a MOU. Both parties reached consensus on organizing delegations of entrepreneurs to participate in China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit and bilateral important economic and trade activities, strengthening information exchange, and supporting business exchanges.

　　The delegation of Khorezm Region, Uzbekistan, also visited Nanning Zhongguancun Innovation Demonstration Base, Jiejiarun Technology Group Co., Ltd., and other places in Nanning, discussing cooperation in technology exchange, economic and trade exchanges, and other aspects.
