On May 9^th, “Guangxi Embraces Five Continents (Eurasia)”China (Guangxi)-Türkiye Economic Cooperation and Trade Promotion Conference, co-hosted by Guangxi CCPIT and Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Guangzhou, was held in Nanning. The conferenceaimed to enhance mutual understanding and further expand exchanges and cooperation between Guangxi and Türkiye in the economic and trade fields.

　　Mr.İsmail Hakkı Musa, Ambassadorof Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Beijing, and Ms.Yang Yanyan, Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi Committee, delivered speeches at the conference.

　　Ambassador Musa stated that “Türkiye strongly supports China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The BRI is in natural harmony with our Middle Corridor Project. We believe that through these projects Türkiye and China, will once again create an effective and modern route connecting China with Europe and beyond. Türkiye has dynamic and young population, solid infrastructure, logistics facilities, strong production capacity and strategic location. Taking these factors into consideration, we firmly believe that there is a much greater potential for the development of our commercial and economic relations with China. Our trade volume has increased 40 times in the last 20 years, reaching a record of nearly 48 billion Dollars in 2023. This Conference is a great beginning for strengthening the economic and trade ties between Guangxi and Türkiye. The Turkish Embassy along with our Consulates General in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and Hong Kong are always ready to provide you with the necessary support and assistance”.

　　Chairperson Yang Yanyan remarked that in recent years, pragmatic cooperation between China and Türkiye has continued to improve. China has become Türkiye’s largest trading partner in Asia and the third largest globally. The deep integration of industrialand supply chains between the two countries has led to rapid growth in the scale of economic and trade cooperation, expansion of cooperation areas, and enrichment of cooperation methods, resulting in significant achievements. Guangxi is currently accelerating its construction of a convenient market for domestic and international dual cycles, making it one of the most dynamic and promising regions in China with broad development prospects and unlimited cooperation space. Seizing the opportunity of this conference, Guangxi is willing to work together with Türkiye to promote high-quality Belt and Road construction, advance industrial cooperation, and promote broader, deeper, and wider economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Türkiye.

　　Mr.Atakan ÖZDEMİR, Chief Commercial Counsellorof Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Beijingand Ms.Dilan CAN, Commercial Attaché of Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Guangzhou made special presentations on trade and investment opportunities in Türkiye and the bilateral trade situation between Türkiye and Chinarespectively. Officials from TurkishEmbassyand consulatein China exchanged in-depth discussions with over 50 representatives from Guangxi enterprises on logistics, commerce, technology, information technology, automobiles, new materials, and other fields, responding to concerns raised by Guangxi enterprises.

　　Türkiye serves as a geographical and cultural bridge connecting Europe and Asia. It is one of the earliest supporters of BRIand an indispensable partner in its construction. China and Türkiye are actively promoting the coordinated connection between BRI and TurkishMiddle Corridor project. This conference will effectively promote communication and connection between Türkiye and Guangxi, jointly explore the potential for economic and trade cooperation, expand cooperation fields and content, and promote common development under BRI.
