
From January 23rd to 24th, Ms. Wu Juan, Vice Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi Committee, visited the consulates general of Japan, South Korea, and Nigeria in Guangzhou, as well as the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) Guangzhou Office, the Korea Trade–Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Guangzhou Office, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Guangzhou Office, and exchanged views on strengthening institutional cooperation and promoting economic and trade exchanges between Guangxi and the aforementioned countries.During visit in Guangzhou, Ms. Wu Juan met with Ms. Kijima Yoshiko, Consul General of Japan in Guangzhou, Mr. Kang Sang-wook, Consul General of South Korea in Guangzhou, Mr. Ahmed Shettima, Consul General of Nigeria in Guangzhou, Ms. Andrea Myles, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner of Austrade in Guangzhou, Mr. Okada Eiji, Director of JETRO in Guangzhou, and Mr. Kim Joocheol, Director of KOTRA in Guangzhou.

Ms. Wu Juan reviewed the cooperation with aforementioned organizations, introduced the current development and key industries of Guangxi, as well as the key work plan of CCPIT Guangxi Committee this year. She pointed out that Guangxi has significant advantages in location, ecology, and industry, with advantageous policies for economic and trade development and enormous potential for economic and trade cooperation with the aforementioned countries. She welcomed the consulates general in Guangzhou and cooperation institutions to organize their enterprises to visit Guangxi and hoped to strengthen cooperation with relevant institutions to co-hold bilateral economic and trade exchange activities, share economic and trade information, so as to build a pragmatic cooperation platform for enterprises from both sides. She also invited relevant institutions to attend activities of the 21st China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS).

Ms. Kijima Yoshiko stated that she would support Japanese enterprises to actively expand their market in Guangxi and provide a pragmatic cooperation platform for enterprises through strengthening institutional cooperation. Mr. Kang Sang-wook welcomed cooperation with CCPIT Guangxi Committee in holding economic and trade exchange activities between South Korea and Guangxi, and expressed willingness to visit Guangxi for business inspection at an appropriate time. Mr. Ahmed Shettima expressed willingness to actively participate in the 21st CABIS and jointly hold economic and trade promotion activities to help enhance mutual understanding and explore business opportunities for both sides’ enterprises. Ms. Andrea Myles mentioned that Australian green, healthy, and safe products such as red wine, dairy products, and honey are well-known in China. She hoped to strengthen communication and cooperation to promote bilateral trade between Australia and Guangxi and facilitate cooperation between both sides’ enterprises in agricultural technology, biomedicine, and other fields. Mr. Okada Eiji stated that Japan has great cooperation space with Guangxi in areas such as automotive parts and agricultural product trade. He expressed support for promoting understanding and cooperation through activities such as negotiation and promotion conferences. Mr. Kim Joocheol stated that he would actively promote Korean enterprises’ participation in the China-ASEAN Expo and CABIS, share information on relevant economic and trade activities organized by Korean enterprises in China, and welcome CCPIT Guangxi Committee to organize Guangxi enterprises to participate. They also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation with Guangxi in trade, agriculture, new energy, biomedicine, technology, and tourism.
