In the afternoon of February 27^th, CJK+ASEAN Young Ambassadors Program 2024, guided by the foreign ministries of China, Japan, and Korea, organized by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), and assisted by CCPIT Guangxi Committee, was held at Guangxi University.
 

　　At the opening ceremony, Mr. SUN Weidong, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a video speech. Mr. LEE Hee-sup, Secretary-General of the TCS, Mr. Wang Naixue, Vice Chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Secretary, Party Committee of Guangxi University, and Ms. Yang Yanyan, Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Ambassador Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of ASEAN-China Centre, Mr. HIRABAYASHI Kunihiko, Secretary General of ASEAN-Japan Centre, Mr. CHUANG Tae-in, former South Korean Ambassador to Turkmenistan, and Mr. Vongpano SIPASEUTH, Consul General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Nanning attended the opening ceremony, as well as nearly 450 representatives from universities and medias from China, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN countries.
 

　　This year marks the 25^thanniversary of the Trilateral Cooperation among China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The 2023 China-Japan-Korea Foreign Ministers’ Meeting injected new impetus into the comprehensive restart of trilateral cooperation after a four-year hiatus. Guests at the opening ceremony expressed their hopes that young friends from China, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN countries could learn from each other, enhance mutual understanding, actively promote and practice the concepts of peace and friendship, and contribute the wisdom and solutions of young people to the development of the East Asian region by building bridges of friendship, exchange, and cooperation among countries.

　　The Young Ambassadors Program is a flagship project of the TCS. This is the first time that the program has been held in China and also the first time that the scope of participation has been expanded to ASEAN countries. Under the promotion of CCPIT Guangxi Committee, this exchange activity was held in Nanning, Guangxi, providing an important platform for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges and cooperation between Guangxi and Japan, Korea, and ASEAN countries.
 

　　After the event, Ms. Yang Yanyan and Mr. Lee Hee-sup had in-depth discussions on strengthening institutional cooperation and mutual support for the organization of economic and trade exchange activities. Chung Tae-in, former South Korean Ambassador to Turkmenistan, and relevant personnel from the TCS and CCPIT Guangxi Committee were present at the meeting.
